EscapeVape is a web application designed to help teens quit vaping anonymously by bringing therapies to the digital age. I leveraged NLP, machine learning, MongoDB, and REST APIs to promote addiction recovery for 2,000+ users. I also identified addiction trends and personality traits through PyTorch, clustering, Google BERT, and Google Cloud tools. This app received 2nd place Congressional App Challenge.

FTC (First Tech Challenge) is a robotics competition for students all over the world. In 2018 and 2019, my team (Team 4592 Nuts & Bolts) placed 2nd at the state finals (runner up to the world competition) and 1st in the regional competitions. I helped in the mechanical engineering of the robot, using tools such as 3D printing and laser cutting, to create the technical parts of the robot.

Lupo was a startup business founded by TJHSST students. I was the CFO and helped to manage the product design. Our main service was an easily accessible trading platform where anyone can learn and use algo trading. People could also use other people's public algos with commission (like crowd sourcing). We also experimented with our own algos for trading. It was a great first experience into financing, algo trading, entrepreneurship, and product management.

NDDA stands for National Drone Disaster Assistant. I used a drone with a Raspberry Pi and infrared sensors to be able to identify survivors following a major natural disaster and aid them with needed supplies. These survivors would then be marked to officials to improve the efficiency of rescue missions following disasters.

ReInvest is a hackathon project where users can donate to a charity of their choice by investing stocks for that charity. This helps charities gain more revenue as well as lets people feel more comfortable investing since the money is going to a donation.

ThinkOpenly is a hackathon project where users can anonymously post political events and discussion threads like a forums exchange. Threads and events are recommended using a NLP Machine Learning model. Politicians can use this app to see the trending concerns and movements so they can reflect their political action for the voices unheard. Verified professionals can also contribute to a thread by commenting to explain another viewpoint or adding to the discussion with their comments pinned at the top of the thread.

WheelShare is a school app that helps underclassmen at TJHSST find carpools to school events and activities after a virtual learning year. We integrated authentication with Google and the school's intranet (ion) sign-on. Attained 300 user sign ups and 30 carpools for the 2021-2022 school year. We developed this project with ReactJS, MaterialUI, NodeJS, PostgreSQL, Prisma, Google Maps API, and TypeScript. (source code)

Rainman is my research project for the senior Computer Systems lab at TJHSST. The goal of this project was to optimize blackjack decisions with genetic algorithms and computer vision for live object detection and 57% profit. This involved generating 50,000+ images with C++ and OpenCV image augmentation to train YOLOv4 with 97% accuracy in real-time feeds. This YouTube link is a video presentation and demo.

Starting 2022, I worked in MRover, a club at the University of Michigan that builds a Mars Rover for the annual University Rover Challenge. I am part of the teleoperations team for robot Rosie placing 4th/104 in University Rover Challenge 2023. In this project, I assembled a debugging interface with ROS, Django, and VueJS to display concurrent robot inputs and actions. I automated web-scraping 40,000+ markets across 10+ sportsbook data streams in 100ms with Redis caching, Puppeteer, and NestJS.

Alert is a hackathon project that won Best Hardware Hack at University of Michigan's MHacks in 2023. The inspiration behind ALERT stems from the desire to enhance productivity and provide users with valuable insights into their computer usage habits. Recognizing the importance of maintaining focus and well-being during computer-based tasks, we aimed to create a tool that leverages various technologies to monitor eye movements, attentiveness, and overall engagement. This program used computer vision to detect the focus location and intensity of a person based on facial and eye features. This was built with OpenCV. Integrating with FitBit and ActivityWatch, our program could determine the study habits of a student. Based on this data, our program gave an automatic studying score and used GPT to provide feedback on the study session. This is also gamified with a nice UI and an incentive to keep your Pokemon alive with positive study scores.

Both working out and traveling can help you achieve work-life balance. When you make time for these hobbies, you're taking care of yourself and giving yourself a break from the stresses of everyday life. This can help you come back to work refreshed and motivated.
